Crystal grew up in New Mexico but lived a short time in Mexico with family. She went to UNM (University of New Mexico) for a couple years, then found out she was pregnant. Crystal became a single mom at 19. She had two mouths to feed, no support ( emotionally, financially) or direction. Crystal decided to drop out and work. She became a mother to a courageous, captivating, self- assured daughter. Crystal returned to school a few years later intermittently and became a Certified Medical Assistant as well as an EMT. Crystal also worked in an HIV clinic with the LGBTQIA community. Crystal’s passion and empathy for helping people is what drives her. Crystal’s goal is to complete her nursing degree.
